TRAFALGAR THEATRE REVEALS STUNNING RESTORATION AHEAD OF WEST END REOPENING
First look unveiled at the beautifully restored 630-seat Trafalgar Theatre as Jersey Boys prepares to return to London's West End.
Leading theatre impresarios and Joint CEOs of Trafalgar Entertainment, Sir Howard Panter and Dame Rosemary Squire, have unveiled the first glimpse inside the newly restored Trafalgar Theatre, marking the completion of a major multi-million-pound redevelopment project that has returned the historic venue to its original 1930s Art Deco splendour.

Describing the discovery of the theatre's original features during the restoration, Sir Howard Panter said: "It is like discovering Tutankhamun's tomb for the first time."
The Grade II listed theatre has undergone an extensive transformation led by award-winning architects Foster Wilson Size, reinstating many of the building's original architectural and decorative features that had been hidden from view for more than 90 years.
Newly released images showcase the theatre's impressive single 630-seat auditorium, complete with specially designed seating, restored decorative details and upgraded technical facilities. Drawing inspiration from historical photographs, the design team carefully recreated original patterns and colour schemes throughout the venue. The restored interior combines black, silver, bronze and gold metallic finishes with vibrant green, cream and yellow accents, faithfully reflecting the theatre's original Art Deco character.
Among the most striking features is the restoration of the balcony front, grand ceiling and proscenium arch, all of which have been painstakingly preserved and reinstated. Beyond the auditorium, visitors will benefit from an enhanced guest experience including a spacious new foyer, redesigned stalls bar, upgraded box office and improved facilities throughout the venue.
The redevelopment also includes significant behind-the-scenes improvements, with fully upgraded technical infrastructure and more energy-efficient ventilation systems designed to meet the demands of modern theatre productions.
To celebrate the beginning of this new chapter, the internationally acclaimed musical Jersey Boys will become the first major production to take to the Trafalgar Theatre stage when it returns to London's West End on 28 July 2021.

The reopening comes at a pivotal moment for the live entertainment sector as theatres across the UK prepare to welcome audiences back following the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Industry leaders have stressed the importance of lifting social distancing restrictions to enable venues to operate sustainably and support the long-term recovery of live performance.
