IDRIS ELBA SHARES HIS PLANS FOR DYSF FUTURE
Idris Elba has launched DSYF (Don’t Stop Your Future) setting out to challenge what a fashion brand can represent.
DYSF is a campaign launched by actor Idris Ebla to help combat knife crime in the UK. DYSF advocates for stricter legislation against zombie knives, increased investment in youth services, and supports grassroots organisations. The campaign includes a clothing line, with all proceeds going to anti-knife crime charities
Idris Elba has always been outspoken about youth violence in the UK, particularly knife crime. And instead of limiting his involvement to advocacy campaigns only, he translated that message into something tangible, clothing.
DSYF was established in response to rising concerns around youth violence in the UK. Their mission is urge the UK government to act against youth violence and knife crime. The brand aims to engage audiences beyond traditional advocacy channels.
DYSF represents the simple, urgent idea that fashion can do more than just look good. It can speak, challenge and even sometimes change behaviour of people. DSYF stands at the intersection of style, activism, and youth empowerment.
All proceeds and partnerships associated with DSYF support programs and efforts that promote youth empowerment, education, and opportunity.
“DSYF was never just about fashion,” said Idris Elba. “It’s about creating something that speaks to people, especially young people, and encourages them to think differently about their future.”
DSYF has worked with the Joe Dix Foundationand engaged in high level meetings with politicians, including the Home Secretary.
100% of the profits that DSYF raise go towards organisations that work to fight the causes of knife crime.
